Female Iron Man in the Marvel Universe

Female Iron Man in the Marvel Universe

Female Iron Man in the Marvel Universe - It's pretty clear that Iron Man is one of the most iconic Marvel characters who is hugely popular with fans. Having the real name Tony Stark, he is an inventor, billionaire, playboy, as well as a superhero who has been protecting the Earth since 1962. Until now, there are a number of other characters who continue their struggles in the Marvel universe as iron-armored superheroes. Interestingly, although Iron Man is a nickname for a male superhero, it turns out that there are 5 women who are also famous as his successors. Who are they? Just take a look below!!

1. Rescue

The first female Iron Man was none other than Tony's own love interest, Virginia 'Pepper' Poots, who made his debut in Tales of Suspense #45 (1963). After being Tony's secretary for a long time, in 2009 she appeared as the first 'Iron Man woman' named Rescue. It all started when Pepper found an armor specially made for him in the comic Invincible Iron Man Vol. 2 (2009). Since then he has often been seen fighting alongside Iron Man and War Machine, including when protecting Stark Industries from attacks by the Detroit Steel Corps supervillain organization.

2. Ironheart

Debut in the comic Invincible Iron Man Vol. 3 (2016), Riri Williams aka Ironheart is a super genius girl who makes Tony Stark a source of inspiration. This is what then makes him excited to reverse the process of creating the old Iron Man armor and eventually become the armored woman known as Ironheart. Even Tony himself acknowledged Ironheart as his successor in the Marvel Universe. After going through trial & error, currently Ironheart has managed to create an armor that is more 'graceful' than Iron Man's armor, while retaining all its strength.

3. Bethany Cabe

Bethany Cabe is a German woman who had fallen in love with Tony Stark aka Iron Man in the comic Iron Man #117 (1978). However, because he was already married, he finally disappeared from Tony's life. Until finally he reappeared in the comic Iron Man # 300 (1993) to help James Rhodes aka War Machine against a supervillain named Ultimo. Even though she had never worn Iron Man armor before, Beth's female body was immediately able to control the MK VIII Armor which was created for men. Since then Beth became a permanent bodyguard for Tony Stark.

4. Dr. Toni Ho

Dr. Toni Ho is the son of Professor Yinsen Ho who had helped Tony Stark create his first Iron Man armor, before he died. Armed with his hatred for Tony, Toni Ho's character continues to develop over time. Starting from spies, even to being part of Avengers Idea Mechanics. In his history, he even became a female version of Iron Man by wearing the Rescue armor to defeat a villain named Maker. He also briefly became the new Iron Patriot in the comic U.S. Avengers #1 (2017) with the members of Avengers Idea Mechanics.

5. Natasha Stark

From Earth-616, we now shift a bit to the alternate universe Ear-3490, where there is a variant of Iron Man that turns out to be a woman. Having the real name Natasha Stark, she only appeared briefly in the comic Dark Reign: Fantastic Four #2 (2009). At that time, Mister Fantastic deliberately peeked at Marvel's Civil War events in the multiverse. How surprised Mister Fatastic was after seeing on Earth-3490 that Iron Man was a woman, who finally decided to marry Captain America, in order to solve the problem of the Super Human Registration Act. Where in the main universe these problems cause Civil War to occur.

Those are 5 female Iron Man who exist in the Marvel Universe. All these tough women have indirectly proven that the identity of Iron Man is not only for men. In fact, they actually proved no less great after wearing their own version of Iron Man armor. Even more interesting, the MCU version of Pepper Poots has also proven its prowess as a Rescue in Avengers: Endgame. Then Ironheart will soon make his debut in the film Black Panther 2. So it's not impossible that others will also follow.

THANK YOU.
