Kevin Feige Reveals MCU Phase 4 Goals
Kevin Feige Reveals MCU Phase 4 Goals |
In his latest interview with Marvel.com at the premiere of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Kevin Feige got a question that has been quite curious for fans. That is what is meant by phase 4 of the MCU which will be closed with Wakanda Forever and GOTG Special.
All loyal Marvel fans know that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is the mastermind behind everything that happens in the MCU. Be it movies, series, or special shows, all of them did not escape the intervention of Feige as the director of the entire saga in the universe.
Including the Multiverse Saga which is divided into three phases, starting from Phase 4, 5, to Phase 6 of the MCU. And Marvel Studios itself has confirmed that this year will be the end of Phase 4 of the MCU which began in 2021.
For Phase 4 of the MCU, there are at least two more shows that will be released by Marvel Studios. The first show is the Black Panther film Wakanda Forever, then the second is The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special which will tell the Christmas moments of the Guardians in the MCU.
But until now, we haven't got a clear point as to what the complications at the top of the MCU will look like. Unlike in phase 3 which clearly leads to complications due to Infinity Stones. To that, Kevin Feige answered:
“The reason [Black Panther: Wakanda Forever] anchors Phase 4, as well as The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, is because the [MCU] phases are all about introductions.
And for phase 4 alone just think of all the characters we've seen. Now with the end of Phase 4, looking at the phases, we have arrived at the [introduction of] a new kingdom and characters that form the basis of what we do at Marvel."
The new kingdom that Feige alluded to seemed to be Talocan led by Namor the Sub-Mariner. As for the new characters, of course more diverse, starting from Captain America Sam Wilson, Shang-Chi, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, not to mention America Chavez, Kate Bishop, Daredevil, right down to Ironheart and the new Black Panther debuting in Wakanda Forever.
In other words, Phase 4 of the MCU is an introduction that will be the beginning of the Infinity Saga, just like the first phase of the MCU. So it's fair to say that the intensity and pace in this phase feel slow, and maybe it will feel more intense and focused in phases 5 and 6 of the MCU.
THANK YOU.
