Marvel Comics Reprints Micronauts Comic Series from 1979!

Marvel Comics for the first time reprinted comics published in 1979. The printed works were Micronauts comics created by Bill Mantlo and a number of other artists. The comic series was largely out of print in the following decades. In April 2024, fans of Marvel comics have the opportunity to buy Micronauts: The Original Years Omnibus.

It includes The Micronauts series volumes 1 to 29 and Annual volumes 1 and 2. A special edition of Micronauts will also be printed in September 2023.

Quoted from the official Marvel Comics website, this is the latest collaboration between Marvel and Hasbro which owns the licenses for Micronauts and ROM the Spaceknight. The ROM comic series is also planned to be reprinted and announced earlier this week.


For those of you who don't know about the Micronauts comic series, this is a story about outer space. There are Micronauts, Commander Rann, Princess Mari, Biotron, Acroyear, and the Bugs who traverse the universe on the microship Endeavor while fighting to free Homeworld from the tyranny of Baron Karza.

Their exploitation also brought it to the mainland of the Earth. When micro-sized heroes meet other superheroes and villains. On Earth, they encounter the Fantastic Four, Doctor Doom, S.H.I.E.L.D, Captain Universe, and Man-Thing.

This edition of the omnibus features a stunning story and restoration, complemented by original artwork dating back to 1979. Omnibus Micronauts will also feature a cover art by Dave Cockrum and artwork by Steve Ditko, Butch Guice, and Michael Golden.

The Micronauts series was originally published by Marvel Comics from 1979 to 1986. It adapted the adventures of the Mego Corporation toy line. A decade later, the Micronauts series was published by Image Comics, Devil's Due Publishing, and IDW Publishing.
