Blade itself is an upcoming MCU film that is certain to bring vampire hunter Eric Brooks in live action form. That's why many Marvel horror fans can't wait to see the film soon. Directed by Yann Demange based on a script by Michael Starrbury and Nic Pizzolatto, this film was actually scheduled to start shooting in May now at Trilith Studios, America. Unfortunately, the MCU plan had to be canceled due to the impact of massive protests by American writers who finally postponed Blade production.

Reporting from The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios has officially postponed Blade production in the MCU until problems related to protests by writers who are members of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) are completed. Blade is the first MCU project to be officially postponed after the WGA protests, as well as marking the second delay in the production of a film starring Mahershala Ali. As a reminder, the first delay was in October 2022 and even made Blade's release schedule pushed back from November 2023 to September 2024.

For those who don't know, the WGA itself held a big protest against the US government on May 2 yesterday. Some of his demands are about decent pay, healthy work schedules, and adjustments to streaming service rules that were previously considered detrimental to writers. For now it is still not clear how the government's response to these demands. What is clear is that currently in the Hollywood film industry itself, many filmmakers have been affected because they have had to postpone production and even their film release schedules.

After Marvel Studios officially postponed production of the Blade film, many fans began to worry that in the future there would be other MCU films and series that were delayed as well. One of them that has started to be widely rumored is the Loki Season 2 series which is planned to be released this year. While the Blade film itself is temporarily still scheduled to premiere on September 6, 2024. We'll see what happens next, and hopefully the problems related to the WGA protests will be resolved quickly.

THANK YOU.
