Explanation of the Origin of "Zohakuten" in the Anime Demon Slayer!

Episode 7 of the anime Demon Slayer Season 3 introduces another powerful demon, Zohakuten, and the power he has. The Swordsmith Arc in the Demon Slayer story is indeed one of the arcs that is considered the best because it presents many interesting elements and also extraordinary actions from Tanjiro and also the other Hashiras. In this arc, we are also introduced to the sword-making village of Nichirin.

Even so, the Swordsmith arc is also known to have epic moments as shown in episode 7 yesterday. In this episode, the fans were introduced to another powerful demon, Zohakuten. Maybe, many geeks are curious about where Zohakuten's power source actually comes from and why he can be so strong.

Who is Zohakuten

Zohakuten is a clone of Hantengu which is the fourth Upper Moon. Even so, Zohakuten is not just any clone. As presented in the story, Hantengu is able to make clones of himself. Hantengu can create four amazing clones. They are Sekido, Araku, Aizetsu, and Urogi.


Meanwhile, Zohakute is a clone of Hantengu which is the combined result of the four Hantengu clones. What's interesting is that when the other four Hantengu clones appeared by splitting after their head was slashed, Zohakuten was born by absorbing the four clones. Actually, this absorption ability belongs to one of the clones, Sekido.

In fact, Hantengu has a total of six clones of which the sixth seems to have yet to be shown. The sixth clone is named Urami. Zohakuten itself is a clone of Hantengu which represents hatred. At first glance, geeks might see that there is a similarity in emotion with Sekido which is a representative of Hantengu's angry nature.

Even so, when compared to Sekido, the emotional level and also the strength is much more powerful. Then, what made Zohakuten so strong? Where is the source of his strength?

Zohakuten Source of Power

The first and most obvious source of Zohakuten's power is the fusion of the four Hantengu clones. By uniting the whole body and also the power of the clone, Zohakuten becomes a terrible opponent as well as a demon that is difficult to beat. He is also known to have a very powerful aura where the aura is capable of killing normal human lives.


Zohakuten is also able to control the plants or plants around it. This was thanks to the ability of the Blood Demon art that he had mastered. By using this power Zohakuten is able to trap or lock up anyone in a forest that he created thanks to the manipulation he did. Being the strongest of all the Hantengu clones, Zohakuten is also able to use all the abilities or powers of the four clones.

The proof of Zohakuten's awesomeness is that he is able to make Tanjiro sick and helpless just by looking at him. In fact, the shockwave he created as a result of the attack was able to paralyze Mitsuri, the Hashira of Love. In fact, Mitsuri is known to have extraordinary muscle thickness. What's even more epic is that the combination of Tanjiro, Mitsuri, Genya, and Nezuko is still unable to defeat Zohakuten.

In the story itself, the only reason why Zohakuten later died or was defeated was not because of the Hashiras, but because of the sun. If not for that, it is likely that the Hashira themselves will have a hard time and even die in the fight. The fight against Hantengu and his own clones is still not over. There are still other clones that will be introduced in the story. Let's just wait, geeks, to continue the story in the next episode.
