Game Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater itself was first released in 2004 for the PlayStation 2 console. Rumors about a Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake have actually been around for a long time among fans. In fact, various leaks related to the game have also circulated. Rumors about the game were finally confirmed at the PlayStation Showcase 2023 event yesterday. According to the information, this game is not only exclusive to PlayStation 5. The game will also be playable on various other platforms such as Xbox and PC.

What's interesting is that according to the press release presented by Konami, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is one of the games that will have a remake version. Konami will also make remake versions of two other games, namely Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Son of Liberty. The three games will be part of a collection called Metal Gear Solid Master Collection: Volume 1. If MGS3 can be played on multiple platforms, then the Master Collection can only be played on the PlayStation 5.


On the game's official website, Konami stated that their team had worked hard to make the game a retelling by developing the gameplay through eye-pleasing visuals and an unlimited user experience. They also mentioned that Metal Gear Solid Master Collection is not just a form of celebrating the game's 35th anniversary. The game will provide the same playing experience when the game was released.

The news about the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake game itself has started to spread widely since last February. Rumors then surfaced that Konami would announce the game at the E3 2023 event. However, since the event was canceled another rumor suggested that Konami would introduce the game at the PlayStation Showcase which later proved to be true.
